Frequently asked questions
- Will my trimmed video keep its sound?
- Yes. The first audio track is kept and converted to AAC when present.
- Are cuts limited to keyframes?
- No. The clip is decoded and re-encoded for cuts at the selected times, subject to frame timing. Re-encoding can slightly change quality.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Processing happens on your device. A roughly 31 MB processing engine downloads on first use and can be cached by your browser.
- What are the size and browser limits?
- Use a recent browser with WebAssembly and a file up to 100 MB. Large or long videos may exceed device memory; shorter clips work best. MP4, MOV and WebM codec support varies, and some sources cannot play in the preview even when they can be processed.
